- 《Works: The Outside Series Ⅰ Ⅱ》 -
With unique shapes and profound connotation, this series of works show the ceramist's understanding of the relationship between man and nature. The works present irregular shapes, which seem to imply the impermanence of nature and the irregularity of life. These irregular shapes also highlight the power of nature and the insignificance of man in nature.
The works explore the relationship between matters, matter and space, consciousness and existence. They make people feel the change of “field”. The candlestick shape, without candles, symbolizes the illumination of space and the perception of infinite possibilities. It represents a realm outside of things, with infinite spiritual value. This kind of philosophy is reflected in the details of the works; whether the undulating surface or the dark color is telling the relationship between nature and human.
