Mr. Yao Yongkang, the ceramist of this work, was born in Ji'an, Jiangxi Province, and his ancestral home is Ningbo, Zhejiang Province. He is a Chinese sculptor and ceramist, a member of the International Academy of Ceramics (IAC), a member of the Chinese Artists Association, a member of the Ceramics Committee of the Chinese Artists Association, director of the Sculpture Art Committee of Jiangxi Province, president of the Jingdezhen Kaolin Ceramics Association, and an expert who enjoys the special government allowances of the State Council.

Yao Yongkang's works are mainly ceramic sculptures. His early works are delicate and peaceful, while his later works are rough and simple, which resemble stone carving in the Han Dynasty. He is good at using clay and porcelain and tapping the aesthetic potential of materials themselves to create artistic works with good taste by selective combination of art, technique and materials.
